He also advises clients on IP strategies and offers comprehensive business and IP counseling. 

His preparation and prosecution of utility and design applications include technologies such as surgical tools, implantable medical devices, robotic surgical devices, wearable medical and consumer devices, medicine delivery systems, 3D printing, eye-tracking software and devices, industrial processes and systems, materials science, metal fabrication and treatment, vehicle systems, autonomous vehicles, aerospace vehicles, aerospace components and systems, satellite launch and configuration, satellite constellations, propulsion for air and space, petrochemical drilling, consumer products, apparel, e-commerce, computer software and hardware, virtual assistants, robotics, graphical user interfaces, insect rearing and release systems, warehouse automation and material handling, sporting goods, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In addition, Russell has extensive work experience with metallurgical engineering including chemistry, solidification, vapor deposition, casting, reactivity, and oxidation.
