Lee & Hayes Announces an Industry-Leading Parental Leave Policy for Attorneys and Staff

Law Firm Continues to Prioritize a “Family-First” Culture

 

Spokane, Wash. – July 18, 2016 – Lee & Hayes PLLC, an industry‐leading intellectual property law firm, this week announced a new paid parental leave policy that affects both attorneys and staff. The new policy will grant female attorneys up to 12 weeks of paid leave and caters to each family’s unique caregiver situation.

Under the new policy, male and female attorneys will receive up to 6 weeks of paid leave as Primary Caregivers and 2 weeks as Secondary Caregivers following the birth or adoption of a child. Female attorneys, who also function as the Primary Caregivers, can receive up to 12 weeks of paid leave for childbirth. The policy gives attorneys the freedom to schedule how they take the time off (i.e. continuous or intermittent).

The updated parental leave benefits extend to Lee & Hayes staff members. In addition to paid time off, male and female staff will receive up to 6 weeks of paid leave as Primary Caregivers and 2 weeks as Secondary Caregivers following the birth or adoption of a child. Female staff members, who also function as the Primary Caregivers, can receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave.

The new parental leave policies are retroactive to January 1st, enabling employees who have had babies in the year 2016 to receive the new benefits as well.
