Dan advises and assists clients on a wide variety of legal issues, from business entity formation and corporate compliance to contract drafting, real estate transactions and independent contractor/employment agreements. He has experience drafting and negotiating complex, multi-million-dollar agreements, from manufacturing and service agreements to IP licensing agreements. Dan also counsels clients on intellectual property related matters, including trademark and copyright registration and compliance, licensing transactions, joint-development transactions, and publication agreements. Additionally, Dan assists clients with copyright and trademark infringement and enforcement matters.
Prior to joining Lee & Hayes, Dan worked at the Transactional Business Law Clinic at Gonzaga University School of Law and was a summer associate at a mid-sized Spokane law firm where he focused on legal issues ranging from real estate and business transactions to secured transactions and estate planning. He also spent a summer working for a general practice firm in Seattle where he gained experience in a wide variety of legal areas from civil litigation, arbitration, and mediation to contract negotiations and drafting. Dan has a passion for working with and helping small businesses and entrepreneurs, a passion that began as an undergraduate in Gonzaga University’s New Venture Lab and continues today as the reason Dan became a lawyer.
Dan is active in local and charitable organizations as a volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team-In-Training Program and as a member of the Advisory Board for Gonzaga’s New Venture Lab.
Dan is proficient in writing, reading and speaking Spanish.
