Brett advises and assists clients on a wide variety of intellectual property issues including the drafting and prosecution of patent applications. His expertise is in biotechnology and chemical related technology but also has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications relating to mechanical and electrical devices and various computer related technologies.
Prior to joining the firm, Brett worked as an associate in the Seattle office of Dorsey & Whitney, LLP, where his practice consisted primarily of intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation. In addition to drafting infringement, invalidity and freedom to operate opinions, Brett worked with a variety of different types of technology, including those in the mechanical, electrical, chemical, biotechnology, and computer arts.
Brett served as an Articles Editor for the Santa Clara Law Review and participated in Honors Moot Court while earning his JD degree from Santa Clara University School of Law.
